An Ode To Garlic

A Garlic post to keep the Vampires away! HAPPY HALLOWEEN!

Oh Garlic, I still remember the first time we met. You were served up on a bed of fried potatoes. There you were sitting innocently among the potatoes with parsley sprinkled in your hair. You had your best shirt on,it was thin and paperlike in an ivory cream color. Instantly I knew that you were special, you were different, unlike anyone I had ever met before. To my pleasant surprise you were scooped onto my plate along with your potato buddies. I shyly poked at you, unaware of how I was supposed to approach you. Then I glanced around the table and saw how everyone else was doing it.

I squeezed you out of your paperlike encasing and took a bite. It was a flavor unlike anything I was used to. A combination of sweet and succulent paired with a savory zing. I was in love...I couldn't understand why we had never crossed paths before. Afterall, the minute I tasted you I knew we were meant to be.

Garlic, you have been there for me eversince that day many many years ago. You have been my flavor of choice, not just simply my flavor of the month. You are so versatile that I have been able to include you in all my meals. You are quite the popular one as my friends enjoy having you for dinner. You, my dear, shall always be welcome at the dinner table.

And sweetie if it were only possible you'd be my dessert too...

But Alas! Every girl needs her space..and I suppose I can't always have you there with me...I need to learn to be independent from you while still loving and embracing our relationship.

Garlic, you will always be the one for me...none other shall ever take your place.

Haha, girl you are crazy! But garlic IS the bomb! Btw, you know he's having an affair with me right? I wonder where he gets all the time to be with you AND me at the same time! Hmmm, we better keep an eye on him.

I love garlic too in all forms. It's amazing how many different ways you cook it, it will taste different.

My fav is roasting them with vegetables as they turn to a nice sweet pulp!

Wonderful story telling. A pulp of garlic here and there brings up the flavour of Asian cooking. Chilli padi and garlic perk me up!

Keep up the good work. Best wishes
