A Surprise Birthday

Last Thursday was R's birthday and I took him out for dinner at a great new restaurant known as Moxie. I was told they had great burgers and R is the type of guy who enjoys fuss free food so I figured it would be perfect. Unfortunately the lighting was very dim and my camera was unable to document the food for the evening...

What I can tell you though is that I thoroughly enjoyed my Steak Au Poivre. It was tender and peppery enough...a good sized portion too! R's burger was a large patty topped with juicy mushrooms and a blanket of cheese...it was so filling that half way through he took the bread off and just ate the patty on its own. For dessert I tried out the Churros a Mexican style doughnut which is sprinkled with sugar and you can dip it in melted chocolate for an additional treat...R chose a cooling Mango sorbet as he was too stuffed.

On Saturday I also surprised him with a BBQ party at our place with a bunch of our closest friends. It was a Liverpool theme party as that is his favourite football club and so guests came dressed in white or red. Everything was lovely and went just as planned.

Since it was a surprise I wasn't able to cook for any of it...so I got the food catered from the restaurant at our condo known as Sxt Floor. We've always enjoyed their pizzas so I figured they would do a good job with the BBQ and they did not disappoint!
We had lamb kebabs, chicken wings, lamb chops, corn on the cob, pizza, potato salad and a tossed salad. All of it was delicious and we were stuffed by the end of it. My favourite though was the lamb kebabs...they were very tender with a great meaty flavour...paired with the mint sauce this was tasty.

I also ordered him a special cupcake sequence from Shalia's Treats that had a few of his favourite things as part of the design...Liverpool...Football...The Simpsons...Ferrari...and Transformers (And now everyone knows what R stands for...hehe).

The mini cupcakes were the perfect end to the BBQ...each guest had fun picking which design they wanted to have...and the non Liverpool supporters enjoyed chomping down on the liverpool logos...haha...all in all it was a successful party and R certainly didn't suspect any of it!

The cupcakes are really cool! The churros sound like a good treat too. Poor R not being able to fit them in.

Lorraine - I was going to ask Shalia if she could fit in more of his interests and then I figured that maybe that was enough..hehe..

LL - He really did enjoy it! I'm sure BE would be happy with a similar theme :)

Arwen - The churros were good but I would suggest eating lighter if you're going to have them.

Carol - Moxie is in Damansara Plaza...very funky new place!

Hi,
I am looking for the address, phone number of SXT Floor.

Somebody opened it on DokoDare (http://dokodare.kaywa.com), but I couldn't verify it.

It would be great if you could send us this to support@kaywa.com.
