Midsummer Nights Feast Preview

Being a part of the media often means that you're treated to previews of events to come. When my invite for the soft launch of the 'Midsummer Nights Feast' arrived in the mail I knew I'd be making that call to RSVP ASAP! Who wouldn't want to go for a taste of all that the feast village in Starhill Gallery has to offer?

This year’s MNF is being held on the 3 - 12 July and the theme is “July around the World”. The 12 restaurants will be bringing together the freshest flavours of summer from all corners of the globe. This will be a 10 day discovery of the finest culinary experiences complete with live performances, entertainment, culinary classes and the chance to dine with celebrity chefs. I’m sure you guys know me well enough by now to know that this event has my name all over it!!

Master chef Stephen Mercer will be there to showcase his signature masterpieces and we’ll get a chance to experience his culinary award winning genius…another special appearance will be that of the Italian culinary maestro Chef Massimo Martina. They both will be preparing special menus and guests will get the chance to taste these creations and dine with the chefs themselves…can you say yum?!

I know I’ve certainly marked the dates down in my calendar! Oh and here’s just a little photo teaser of what is to come…there were hundreds of exciting dishes and these were just some of the ones I was able to sample at the soft launch…because there were so many though I honestly can't remember what a lot of them were...

An appetizer from Shook! that I didn't get to try but I photographed because I liked the presentation.

Lovely lamb and chicken slices from the Lebanese restaurant Tarbush...Oh so tender...slurp!

A beautifully presented seafood Paella from Sentidos Tapas..I didn't try this but it looked pretty so I snapped it instead!

A risotto of some sort with sundried tomatoes from Shook!...this was flavourful and very creamy...

Seared scallops that looked so pretty I just had to give them a try...also from Sentidos Tapas...

Some sort of prawn lemongrass appetizer from MyThai...

Another creative and gorgeous presentation that I just had to photograph eventhough the lighting was not on my side...by Sentidos Tapas...

Sentidos Tapas again with this tomato and meatball skewer...yummm....

MyThai with spoonfuls of sauteed chicken...this was tangy and spicy and delicious!

Enak's creation with scallops...very nice...I also enjoyed their tamarind jus beef but the photos for that didn't turn out very well...
A soup of some sort...looks pretty but I didn't get to taste any...was just so full with allt he food that was available!
Fresh spring rolls from My Thai...these are always a refreshing light treat...

I'm not quite sure what this is...but it looked interesting...it looks like the base is actually a huge cauliflower bulb with the florets chopped off...by Enak.

There was a lot that I tried which didn't look as nice photowise...and a lot that I didn't try but looked pretty so yeah...all I can say is that there was more food than I've ever seen...most of what I had was delicious too…will you be attending the Midsummer Nights Feast in July too?
