Chefspiration's Journey

This blog has been through its ups and downs over the past few years…I originally started it in 2006 when I moved back to Malaysia and I had a lot of spare time on my hands as I didn’t have a job. It was my way of sharing my love of food with anyone who cared to read and it was my space to play and experiment with recipes. And play with recipes I did in my parents’ beautiful kitchen.

Once I got a job however reality hit and I never seemed to have the time or energy to blog consistently. Eventually I stopped and I left it untouched for over a year. I also ended up moving out of my parents place to an apartment that didn’t have much of a kitchen and *gasp* no oven! I didn’t cook in this new place especially because eating out was cheap and hassle free.

Then about a year and a half ago I got a job that had a lot of food related assignments, writing for The Expat magazine…and then to make things even better last August I moved in to an apartment where I had a proper kitchen to cook in…complete with oven and all. My love for food was reborn and thus the blog was revived…I started with baby steps…reposting a lot of old content and then pushing myself to post at least once a week…soon enough I was up to multiple postings in a week!

By now I’m sure you’re curious as to why I’m taking you on a walk down memory lane…so I won’t keep you in suspense any longer…

Working at The Expat magazine I have had assignments where I’ve had the opportunity to interview many interesting individuals……and so I’ve gotten used to being the person who asks the questions…well for the first time this week I was on the other side of the questions. Feedmelah asked me if they could interview me about my blog and of course I agreed!

This to me was like a doctor giving my blog a clean bill of health…it went from having no signs of life to people actually reading and enjoying it. So for this I would like to thank my lovely readers the support! And I would also like to thank Feedmelah for finding my blog worthy to feature.

Congratulations Alexandra! What a great interview :) I think we all go through ups and downs of being interested and then disinterested in blogging.

Wow, no oven, really? :o I don't know if I could live without one! I'd probably knock on neighbour's doors or something

Nomad Gourmand - Thanks babe! When are we gonna go for a makan session?

Lorraine - Yes unfortunately not many apartments come with ovens here...you have to be pretty lucky to get one in an apt that you rent...or you'd have to buy one yourself.

BurpandSlurp - Thanks for the support! I hope you continue reading :)

Arwen - Thanks a bunch!

Hi Alexandra!

Thanks again for agreeing to the interview with Feedmelah.com! It was a real pleasure to share your story and food blogging tips with our old and new readers alike.

Let's hope this is a spring board for both of our sites to shoot up into the Internet stratosphere! haha.

Thanks again and keep in touch,

-William and the rest of the Feedmelah.com team :)
